I want to personally thank you for re-electing me as your Assistant Director for the Maintenance Division of the APWU. In this regard I am humbled and honored by the confidence you have in my work and your recognition of the excellent work I have performed on your behalf. I pledge to continue to work tirelessly on your behalf to continue to protect Maintenance bargaining unit work by continuing to my efforts to control the Postal Service’s subcontracting initiatives as well as bringing a halt to the erosion of the Maintenance work force. I will continue to work to bring maintenance work back into our Craft and “grow” our Craft by strengthening our staffing criteria.

The 2010 election of National Officers provides the opportunity for us to continue the progressive and effective leadership at all levels of the APWU. Voting for all the candidates on the Leadership Team ensures the success we have achieved in collective bargaining, grievance-arbitration, safety and health, and legislations will not only continue but improve. The “Team” is comprised of skilled and experienced Officers with the diversity necessary to ensure all members’ voices are heard and they receive the best representation possible.

In this regard I ask that you support and vote for the following “tested and proven” members of the Leadership Team:

CLIFF GUFFEY FOR PRESIDENT: Cliff is the current Executive Vice President and has been a leader in the APWU for many years in various positions of decision making responsibility, for example, Director and Assistant Director for the Clerk Division. In addition he has served the membership as Local President of the Oklahoma City Local. Cliff’s vast knowledge and experience will be invaluable as our next President and during the upcoming negotiations. He is by far the most capable candidate to lead the American Postal Workers Union, AFL-CIO. ELECT CLIFF GUFFEY FOR PRESIDENT.

GREG BELL FOR VICE PRESIDENT: Greg Bell is the most logical choice to be our next Executive Vice President. Greg’s tested experience as Director, Industrial Relations, demonstrates that he will ensure our rights are protected and enforced. No current Officer has more knowledge of our Contract and its interpretation than Greg.  Greg’s most important value is his genuine concern for all members of the APWU, regardless of Craft. ELECT GREG BELL FOR VICE PRESIDENT.

ROB STRUNK FOR CLERK DIVISION DIRECTOR: Rob is currently serves the membership as Assistant Director for the Clerk Division.  Rob has a wealth of knowledge of Clerk issues and has worked well with your Maintenance Officers on a multiple number of issues.  There has been an attempt to elevate Rob’s health as an issue in this election. I find such personal attacks as examples of lack of character.  Rob has stated very clearly and unmistakable terms that his health is strong, his desire is strong, and the fire in his heart burns with greater intensity. To my Clerk Division Brothers and Sisters, Rob is the right choice for you now and in your future. ELECT ROB STRUNK FOR CLERK DIVISOIN DIRECTOR.

BOB PRITCHARD & MIKE FOSTER FOR MOTOR VEHICLE SERVICE DIVISION and ASSISTANT DIRECTORS: These two fine gentlemen have represented the Motor Vehicle Division with great vigor. They have consistently demonstrated that, you as the member are the most important part of this great Union. The Postal Service has unleashed an anti-worker program like no other against the Motor Vehicle Craft. Bob and Mike, with their experience and knowledge, have stood tall on behalf of their Division. Make no mistake when you cast your vote, vote for Bob and Mike as they are best candidates to represent you. RE-ELECT BOB and MIKE AS DIRECTOR AND ASSISTANT DIRECTORS FOR THE MOTOR VEHICLE SERVICE DIVISION.

PRINCELLA VOGEL FOR SOUTHERN REGION COORDINATOR: Princella is President of the Houston Area Local. She has the experience and knowledge to handle the administrative duties of a Regional Coordinator. As President she has encountered workroom problems from all Crafts, small offices, large offices and everything in between. She has been a strong supporter for all Crafts and has been a “Labor Leader” in her Local, the AFL-CIO and legislation. She understands that the membership is the most important part of the APWU; as such she is a true unionist. ELECT PRINCELLA VOGEL AS SOUTHERN REGION COORDINATOR.

WILLIIAM “BILL” KACZOR for HEALTH PLAN DIRECTOR.  Bill is the current Health Plan Director of your “Union” Health Plan, which I am very proud to state that I have been a long time member, and has taken the Health Plan membership to new heights. He continually initiates new and a creative approaches for our Health Plan. He ensures the APWU High Option and the APWU Consumer Driven plans contain the level of medical benefits that APWU members and their families need. Under his leadership the number of members in the APWU Health Plan has increased and will continue to increase as new and innovative coverage’s are secured. RE-ELECT BILL KACZOR FOR HEALTH PLAN DIRECTOR.

MARTHA SHUNN-KING FOR DIRECTOR, ORGANIZATION: Securing new members within the Postal Service as well as leading our outside organizing efforts requires a person with great perseverance, knowledge, and a love for the Labor Movement and its workers. Martha has demonstrated these personality traits; she has been instrumental in many APWU organizing initiatives which have increased the membership in the APWU. She brings the necessary work ethic required for an “organizer” and will ignite the organization fire within all State and Local organizations and the members on the workroom floor. ELECT MARTHA SHUNN-KING FOR DIRECTOR, ORGANIZATION.
