Sisters and brothers, I thank you for your support and confidence in electing me as your Secretary-Treasurer. I vow to continue working relentlessly on your behalf to ensure your Union remains viable, especially during these unyielding times.
Now I ask for your support to elect my fellow sisters and brothers on the Leadership Team. They deserve your vote and together we will continue to enhance representation and leadership so critical in today's reality and postal work floors.
Cliff Guffey - for President. There is no other candidate as qualified, experienced and knowledgeable. I have known Cliff for well over 20 years. I worked with him when he served as a national craft director. He has a real insight into the needs of the crafts that make up this great union. Craft identity is the hallmark of our Union and he knows how to honor diversity yet strive for unity.
Cliff has his finger on the pulse of the workroom floor. We can bank on his experience as a very successful President of the Oklahoma City Local. Cliff has never forgotten the challenge of front-line leadership. He respects the rank-and-file members and will lend his full support to the leaders at the local and state levels so they, in turn, can solidify the dues paying member.
As Executive Vice-President Cliff has gained an invaluable insight not only of our internal operations but also the makers and shakers at L'Enfant Plaza, Capitol Hill, and our sister labor organizations. He is poised, ready and able to lead our Union into the next decade! Together, Guffey-Bell-Powell and the rest of the Leadership Team shall overcome the trials and tribulations we face and progress as a beacon of light in the darkness of uncertainty.
Greg Bell - for Executive Vice-President. Do not let the soft spoken demeanor of this determined unionist ever fool you. Greg is both a capable and potent leader whose vast experience rising through the ranks at the local level has prepared him to serve as the Vice-President of this great Union.
For four contracts now, Greg as been at the forefront of our battles with postal management. Serving as our Director of Industrial Relations, Greg has brought true meaning to the title. All of his postal career has been dedicated to serving the members of the union.
Interpreting and enforcing the collective bargaining agreement is Greg's trademark. Representing the interests of the membership is his hallmark. Greg's work ethics and capacity for performance along with this perpetual optimism make him the best choice for the second-highest office of this great Union.
Martha Shunn-King - for Organization Director. She may be new to the team and she may not be first on the ballot, but Martha is top-notch and always puts the members first. She has served at the local level and rendered service at the state level. She has championed the cause of the membership throughout her involvement with our union.
Realizing the need to keep our ranks solid Martha chose to run for director to build a cohesive coalition of unionists at the grassroots level so that together we can continue to build our union. Solidarity goes beyond numbers. Unity transcends slogans. Martha has the knowledge, will, and desire to unite our brothers and sisters within the union in a solid effort to bring in our wayward fellow workers that have yet to join our ranks.
Martha will bring a sense of level-headed but determined efforts on our outside organizing without losing sight that we have more than 30,000 postal non-members. Martha and the Leadership Team are committed to an aggressive organizing crusade that will boost our union and ensure our stability. United We Stand, Divided We Crumble!
Princella Vogel - for Southern Regional Coordinator. My sister has been in the forefront of our struggles for several years, and she is still fighting on behalf of her local. Princella is a die-hard unionist who has the ability to succeed, the capacity to prevail and the tenacity to make things happen.
Her charisma is disarming but there is no doubt she is a fighter, which is exactly what is needed in the Southern Region to deal with the convoluted migration and staffing plans of the Southeast and Southwest Areas. Committed to defend the rights of the membership, Princella is forthright and exacting. She will use her skills and determination to ensure the entire Southern Region is served and protected during the onslaught and turbulence of postal repositioning.
Princella believes in equality for all postal workers. She is devoted to the cause of the working people and her efforts on behalf of worker progress has been life long. Relentless, dedicated and tough when she has to be, there is no better choice for this job.
William Kaczor - for Health Plan Director. Bill has worked hard to ensure our Health Plan stays upfront in the medical and health care world. Bill has developed an administrative staff that ensures our plan remains one of the best federal health plans.
Kaczor cares! You could not put it more simple and truthful than that. Our plan not only provides medical care but also helps keep the union viable. Bill works relentlessly to ensure the plan progresses. Bill still has a lot of gumption and determination. Bill is dedicated to improve the plan's postal rolls and is always working on innovative ways to market our "Cadillac" plan to our brothers and sisters.
Bill deserves our continued support. Under his leadership and tenure the plan thrives. We can't afford to lose his experience and enterprising spirit.
Rob Strunk - for Clerk Craft Director. Rob is an outstanding remarkable leader. His years of service and experience are critically needed in the craft as it faces even more attacks from postal management's wayward plans. The officers in the clerk craft can confide in Rob's knowledge and mostly in his compassion for postal workers. His empathy for the rank and file clerk is only surpassed by his desire to serve.
Rob's desire and compassion have propelled him to serve the membership at the local, state, regional and national level. He is a straight shooter and has the best interests of our union at heart. Now that passion in his heart to serve has harkened the call of the membership to complete the leadership team of the clerk craft.
Rob will serve with desire and will ensure that out clerk craft is not only protected from decimation but also produces well reasoned and progressive accords that address our ongoing disputes with our employer. You can't go wrong when you go with Rob.
Robert "Bob" Prichard - for MVS Director. Bob is an individual of stalwart desire to serve his craft. Bob does not buy into the divisive mentality that the smaller craft is any less important. In reality Bob strives to make sure the MVS craft is given equal treatment within our own organization and within the postal service.
Bob handles controversy with a skill and determination like none other. Cool headed, calm and collective he strives for only one thing -- to improve the working conditions of the members of his craft.
Pritchard's character is beyond reproach. He believes in people and in the cause of the labor movement. But most of all, Bob believes that his craft must and will remain a critical component in the postal service of the future. Bob will fight to make it so!
Michael "Mike" Foster - for MVS Assistant Director. Mike is a dynamic craft leader. Smart, witty and determined to ensure the MVS Craft and the transportation element of the services remains intact, Mike will continue to fight for the craft.
Mike is a tenacious fighter. But, he is also a compassionate unionist. His resolve to ensure MVS remains viable is not void of the reality of today's postal service. Mike has a complete understanding of the plight of the drivers and mechanics within the MVS. He understands the craft and has the foresight necessary to deal with and counter the transportation managers.
Mike treasures his craft it's history and members. To help ensure the craft's vitality Mike is the sure bet!
